Dying blades I know that this is a relation to painting blades in an earlier post, but I thought this would be a good subject. Im a bit of a blacksmith in some respect. I decided that I would forge my own broadsword one day, so I sat down and decided what I wanted to do with it. Finally decideding to dye the metals blue. it worked rather well and figured if it worked on a broadsword, why not a foil? I have yet to try this though as I am not familair with the metals of a foil. But if I could have a dyed one I would have to have it dyed ice blue, and in a ice crystal pattern. What about everyone else? -

Array Wow old thread. Check the dates before bringing up dead threads like this man. But either way, I THINK that the dying has to be done by adding certain metals to the mixture? Just like Fireworks? -

Array C'mon, people. If you want a blue blade, you might as well get one done by people who know what they're doing. It's the only epee blade I use. (I rather prefer my sabre blades in rainbow, though.)
Oh, right. This thread is almost as old as I am. Move along. -

Array Pedant wordsmith here ... but I believe that would be "dyeing" blades. However, it was rather amusing to picture blades breathing their last. Spends way too much time here -
