Array The Fie Has Granted World Championship Status To Vet Women’s Sabre Thought you'd find this of interest.
PARIS - Following the establishment of Women's Sabre as an Olympic fencing medal event at the Athens games, the Federation International D'escrime (FIE) has granted World Championship status to Veterans Women's Sabre beginning with the 2005 Veterans World Fencing Championships at Tampa, Florida, USA, in September.
Women's sabre has been a demonstration event at previous Veterans World Championships, including the 2002 tournament also held in Tampa.
In other action, the sport's international governing body awarded the 2006 Veterans World Championships to Bath, England, and the 2007 event to Sydney, Australia. -

Array I would like to encourage over-60 women foil or epee fencers to consider fencing women's sabre. We would like to field a 60+ team. At the present we only have one regular competitor who is over 60, and she didn't come to Richmond. -
