| Best Discworld Sub-Genre Most everyone agrees that Terry Pratchett's Discworld series is outstanding. But which sub-genre of Discworld books is the best? Is it the Rincewind books? The witches? The City Watch books? The one-offs (e.g. Small Gods, Pyramids, Going Postal, etc.)? Something else?
Take a position and explain why your pick is superior to the rest.

| The Rincewind books, because that's what started it, and Rincewind rocks! As does luggage, and Eric. |

| My friend said the "Watch" and the "Susan" ones, he then said "Well more Susan/Death" since he is STILL the Eskiv champion he is obviously right and what he says must never be disagreed with.

Start wherever you want, really. I got hooked on the series because of Thief of Time. |

| Yeah, the Susan Death ones are pretty good. And of course the Rincewind ones got it all going. But my vote's for the Vimes/Vetinari books, because they have the best character development and some of the deeper thoughts. I'm waiting for the inevitable showdown between Carrot and Vimes -- it's gotta happen, despite themselves.
EDIT: But then again, of course, my sig line is none other than Rincewind's motto, so who am I kidding?

| I find I like the one-offs best, then the Watch books. The Witches and Rincewind get kind of old after a few books ... |

| Sub Genre?
What does that mean?
Oh, best interweaving thread, plot what have you or character set - I get you.
Rincewind and the luggage. |

| I'm with Kalivor -- prefer the one-offs (Small Gods is the one that got me hooked), then the City Watch books (Fifth Elephant is the best of these).
