I'm a big TvG (the horse racing channel) fan, and recently I watched the greatest race I've ever seen. It was the rise of Fusaichi Samurai, son of Fusaichi Pegasus, the horse that recently won first the Kentucy Derby and then the Belmont. Samurai was a record priced
4.5 MILLION DOLLAR horse and proved every cent of it, easily beating the dominating favorite, Mystos, in it's DEBUT performance. It was astounding. It made the 6 furlong track in 1 minute, 18 seconds, if I remember correctly, (1 min. 19 sec. is GREAT time) and did it without even getting tired. Victor Espinoza, it's highly esteemed jockey only tapped him with the riding crop once the whole race (btw,They DO NOT hurt the horses. I am an animal rights activist, I've worked with PETA (albeit it at my High School, and half for a chick

) and I've been around horse racing for a long time. The horses are fine. That said, this horse is going to be a rival of Secretariat and Smarty Jones, who is probably going to end up starring in a movie with Tobey Macguire.

You guys horse racing fans, or any opinions on this?
