Array Coaching gear I'm planning on replacing the bulk of my coaching kit in the new year as its becoming very worn and would like to know which kit offers the best value for money. Currently im using
a Leon Paul black stretch coaching jacket
Allstar mask Leon Paul Sabre coaching mask pad.
PBT Sabre Coaching Glove.
And a Leon Paul Epee sleeve.
By the way i'm a three weapon coach dealing with a levels of experience so need suitable kit.
Thanks

you could use the allstar fencing master stuff, it's very good, and for a good quality,
if you teach épée more often than the 2 others weapons, my advice would be to use uhlman stuff(special épée jacket for master with short sleeves) it's made from a very good leather and you'll keep this jacket for a quite long time
the advantage of the allstar stuff is not so much heavy, this uhlman jacket for épée is a little bit heavier
the PBT stuff for fencing master is also very good, and more cheap than the allstar one.
for the leon paul, i don't like it Originally Posted by Tiwaz I'm planning on replacing the bulk of my coaching kit in the new year as its becoming very worn and would like to know which kit offers the best value for money. Currently im using

Array personally I like the PBT coaches gear especially for epee. I has proven to be durable and comfortable. You can train for strength & speed but heart must come from within.

Array I've got a BG coach's mask and forearm protector that I absolutely love. Much less expensive than uhlmann, etc, and very very well made. (I coach sabre, and the BG mask does a great job of keeping the ringing to a minimum).
My jacket is a custom made one that I got through Swordmasters. Also fabulous. And well priced. It has removable leather pieces that velcro on and detach, so one can put the padded jacket part in the wash. -

Array This is a little off topic but...
If anyone is interested I have an Allstar right handed female coaches plastron w/ one sleave that i am trying to sell. I got it by mistake and the cost of shipping it back to Germany is not worth the effort. If you are interested i can send a pict etc.
Cheers

R what's the difference between a male and a female coaches' jacket? If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not to dream less but to dream more, to dream all the time~Proust

Array I ordered several pieces of Ulhmann coaching equipment two years ago and have been very happy with it. If you're going to order alot, you might look at ordering from an overseas dealer. I used Langenkamp FechtenSport and didn't have any problems. They're at http://www.fechtsport-langenkamp.de
When you look at they're prices you can deduct 16% VAT, but now that I think about it with the way the dollars going....Hmmmm. You'd just have to compare. If the pen is mightier than the sword, the writer must have a heck of a reach!! -
