For those you Chciago-area fencers who haven't heard about this any other way and for those willing to travel to fence -- the Chicago Fencing Club is Holding a D and Under fencing Tournament on Sunday, December 19.
The tournament will be held at the Chandler-Newberger Community Center in Evanston. The address is 1028 Central. It is easily accessible via public transportation. Take the red line to the Howard El Stop, and then transfer to the Purple line. Take that to the Central stop. Get off the train there and turn left as you exit the station. Make another left immediately after you walk out from under the el tracks, and the Chandler-Newberger Center is right there.
There is also plenty of parking for those who want to drive. Driving instructions are available from www.mapquest.com.
The close of registration for the events is as follows:
9 a.m. – Foil
11 a.m. – Epee
1 p.m. – Sabre
Entry fee pre-registered $15.00 1st event, $10.00 2nd event. $20.00 at the door. Call (847) 866-8490 to pre-register and pay with credit card or email UngerCFC@chicagofencingclub.com
So, if you have fencers rated D and under who are looking to get some tournament experience under their belt, please have them join us Sunday, the 19th.
