V2?

What is the difference between the regular german and the V2 tips? I know the V2 has a line running around the barrel, but are the parts the same? i.e. can I use the same tip, screws, and springs as the regular germans in a V2 barrell?

I take it you're referring to the Uhlmann/Allstar V2A foil points? The V2A barrel is made from a titanium alloy, and is a good deal more resistant (though not totally immune) to getting dented and deformed than the standard steel barrels. They're pretty easy to tell apart from the steel ones, since they have a dark brown color. Other than the metal, they're identical to the normal barrels and fully compatible with all the other German point parts.

They are very reliable, though I still prefer the new LP's.
