Damn you people, you make me want to take this idea back up again
Let's see... in my tangled mess of a mind, I came up with this so far The Basics
#Good vs. Evil (par usual) (Vampire hunters vs. Vampires)
#There are neutral guys, go ahead and choose one if you want
I
#it's set in modern times, maybe some freak nuclear accident turned some of the population into vamps, i dunno, we'll have to come up with a plot, dammit i have no time to do this! I'll try. If any of you have Ideas/full plot, please share!
so far that's it..
lets roll? -

Array The stars were out tonight shining brightly on the wet streets and endless buildings that made up the Manhattan Skyline. And upoun these wet roofs ran one black figure, leaping higher and higher above each towering skyscraper and looking down upoun the bustling mortals below, rushing away into hours of tiresome lonely traffic to be with ones who no longer loved them, rushing endlessly in overpriced rusty automobiles so they can go nowhere in the fastest possible time.
The lone figure leapt off the structure of metal and fiberglass below him, his shirt stretching and exploding off his back as two giant wings grew and expanded and outstreched from his flesh, and he arose with the steam and the smog that was the lifeblood of this city, his feet touching finally the empirical stone gargoyles of the Chrysler building, allowing one lone child, who had lost her balloon, to see him, high above the lowly hustle and bustle, black wings outstretched like the angel of death, and silhouetted against the full moon.
And he set his gaze upoun the full crystal ball above him, wondering, if even for just a moment, if someone else was watching it, hoping to be relieved of the shackles of this life laced with mortals, if someone else was tired of endless seas of beings who were neither here nor there, desperate to make money so they can progress, and make more money, desperate, it seemed, to wile away there lives behind a desk, doing pointless, endless work, forever. Once in a while you could find someone real, a real mortal, someone who was worthy of life as he had it. He looked down into the eyes of a young child, as her red balloon passed wistfully past him, up into the sky, trailing endlessly only to be forgotten. Until it popped, and fell back to earth, where it would be easily disposed of, without a second thought to it or the child who had let it pass.
He sat down upoun the quite literally statuesque monster beneath him. What a wonderfol life it would be, to spend it's time watching the goings on of this great city. There was nothing it had not seen, nothing that would ever surprise, no event that would change the expression carved on it's face for all eternity. It peered relentlessly on Manhattan, a warrior, a protector, a creature of comfort. It would always be there, after generations had come and gone, after marriages and divorces, car crashes and car sales. Whether the economy rose or fell, whether terrorists crashed a thousand planes into a thousand buildings, this would always be there as long as the city stood.
He sat back on the friendly demon, his wings returning to their earthly place, and sighed wistfully, wishing their was someone with whom he could share the view.
(Feel free to PM me if you want my char. to do something.)

Array There was a clunk as the man reached the end of the ladder. He crouchedletting his eyes adjust to the dim light of the basement. While his eyes adjusted he took out his combat knife; it shimmered in the dim light, exposing a strip of solid silver running down the spine of the blade. The man kissed it for good luck, and slid into the inky shadows of the basement. He stopped when he reached the wall, gathering his bearings. A furnace stood sentinel in the middle of the room, rusted and worn from years of solitude. It seemed the entire basement was the apartment’s communal junk room: old chairs, televisions, exercise equipment, and bookshelves littered the floor in piles that went well over the man’s head. But this man didn’t care about the mess, he cared about his quarry. Not the rats that so frequently plagued the city, oh no: this man was after a certain Vampire.
He looked around again, and found what he was looking for. He creeped to the door, and quietly opened it, his combat knife in his hand, his nerves poised and ready. He opened the door, and dropped into his fighting stance. No-one there. He breathed a sigh of relief, and dropped his guard, slinking further into the doorway. The elevator shaft was even darker than the previous room, he couldn't see a thing in there. He turned on his flashlight, and jumped down onto the decrepid elevator car. It's just been sitting here for a few years, he thought, it's not been used. Good, this means his quarry hasn't had any visitors up from this way. It makes it easier for me to do my duty and get my pay. No-one's used the Chrysler building for a decade now, after the year two thousand and ninety-five, the population made Sublings. Instead of scraping the sky like Skyscrapers did, the population decided after the 2084 bomb attacks on the Empire state building and the Sears tower in Chicago (both of which are still standing, but are relics) the middle class population sank into turmoil, and eventually sank beneath the Earth, too scared to live on the ground like the others. The lower classes that had been barely been able to scrape a living for themselves now had, literaly, the run of the place. The Governmental Board of New York City had been set up to take charge of the general anarchy that had spread after the united states government's decision to settle its people under the earth. They had created their own lives there; most of the people who had retreated underground had taken all of their possessions with them, but there was still materials to be worked with, and the Lows (as they were called) worked very well with little.
The hunter clamped on a hitch to secure himself to the elevator cable, and started to climb into the blackness, with only his flashlight to light his way.

Array He heard the oh so obvious sounds of a man making his way loudly up what he knew had to be an elevator shaft. He rose easily from his position. Now the question. Did he go to the man or let the man go to him? He entered the building and walked to the old abandoned elevator. The doors exploded inward trailing fiery breath. He jumped inside, his eyes more than used to the dark, and slid rapidly down the cable before halting at the last second and swinging backwards with his feet as a hinge. He found himself upside down and face to face with a vampire hunter.
"Who are you who was dumb enough to send you, and for the Love of God why don't you learn how to shave and shower? It is possible you know. Even underground."

Array The hunter was startled, almost losing his grip on the cable. He still had his combat knife in his hand, but now it would do nothing without the element of suprise. Or was the element still unnoticed? The Hunter readied his knife. -

Array Well what about guys like Angel (Buffy)? So is it strickt one side bad one side good? Or sometimes a little salt or pepper on either side?
Not to be the picky one. Also though, what about power rules? Some people have vamps be all powerful and such. Others just have them be blood suckers and not much else? Should we agree on a rough area to set that in or just roam as you will? "Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. Salt and pepper, most definately.
Vamps can have some über-moves and stuff, but please keep it reasonable, not like.

Array The doors flew apart in a fiery inferno. "Fools" he thought as he crouched in the shadows. "They always like to showoff, never subtle." Brandis, then moved swiftly, silently to the edge of the elevator shaft, following The vampire. This was the creature he had been searching for his entire life. Now he would just wait and listen to the exchange between these two beings. Time, he had plenty of it, now in his 87th year of life, what were a few more minutes?

The scent in the air was mingled. Most of what Vila could smell was fear, most of that was emminating from a small child standing not ten yards from her. She squinted her eyes at the child. That creature couldn't have possibly been frightened of her.. she wasn't even in wolf form. She looked the child up and down. It's eyes were wide, and staring. Staring at what? She followed the child's line of sight.
The moon in it's full glory shone.
The urge to make the change was almost unbearable. But she couldn't allow herself to. There was also vampire in the air. She tore her gaze from the moon and looked at the building slightly to her left. She saw it. The vampire moved off the edge and down. Then something else was on the roof and... fire. There deffinately was fire. And something not quite human with it. -
The air was cold, but mrbiggs still felt warm from his last meal. He flew low over the countryside back towards the city. The night's hunting had worn him out, and nothing felt better than the promise of a day's sleep, back home. -

Array He let his eyes slide back in his head. He looked back at the Hunter. He wasn't going to get his answer. "Alright. I don't have much time. So, my fair friend, you're going to come with me. Whether you like it or not. If you try to resist, you die. At least for now." He watched as Darkness flowed from his fingers, wrapping around the hunter and rising up to the roof. He didn't see Brandis, or at least didn't show any sign of it. He landed on the roof easily and watched as the bounty hunter did the same. "There may be children for dog food if you don't cooperate. What is your name?"

The smell of vampire suddenly got stronger. Vila recoiled her head in disgust and and distaste. To her dismay, when she opened her eyes the moon was all that filled her vision. It was as if she were swimming in an ocean of the moon's light. This comfort and calm, she knew, was not to last. It was the deceptive beginning to the Change. Mentally she beat herself up for lack of control. And then she couldn't think about anything.
Vila's hands went immediatly to her forhead. Her scream ripped through the night air. She writhed on the ground still screaming in utter agony. It was as if she were being run over by a train while her insides exploded. It was never a pleasant process which is why she refrained from it usually. Her scream changed into a howl and where previously before a relatively human girl had been a wolf drapped in clothing howled. Similar Threads -
