Array Picking a camera for fencing shots!!! I am looking into buying a camera, and believe it or not most of my shots will probably be fencing pictures.
Would anyone happen to know of what camera I might look into? I guess I don't have to stress that I need to be able to follow the fencers up and down the strip, or that many of the places I will be fencing will be pretty terrible on light (neighborhood salles not designed for taking pictures), and I will also probably not be able to back up from the fencers enough to really pan slowly as they move down the strip so I need to be able go from focusing on people 5" away to focusing on people up to 14 meters away pretty quickly.
I would also like to keep the price under $500.
Much appreciation for any suggestions you guys can make. -

Array Kodak disposable. Plus, if you ever potentially get mugged, you have that cool flash thing you can do. -

Array Pentax makes awesome cameras. I have this one: http://www.pentaximaging.com/product...ction=film_slr
Not the EXACT model, but very similar. I'm not sure about this one, but mine has settings for sports photography, consecutive photography and high-speed photography. -

Array digital, the New Minolta's have some great features for adjusting light and self-balancing for fast shots. Combine it with some good software (photoshop, etc.) and you will be set. I heard a blurp on here recently that there was a system for hooking a camera up to the box so that the shutter clicked with every point scored. the shots of the force exherted on the weapon in that secon of action produces AMAZING shots. Check out the Pacific Fencing Lcub website. They were the first ones who I heard about it from. They actually do a fencing photography tournament. http://www.pacificfencingclub.com/
