Array Helmet or Mask I have a friend who gets angry when they call it a helmet. Personally I don't care.
I found this(dictionary.com):
Helemt- A head covering of hard material, such as leather, metal, or plastic, worn by football players, firefighters, construction workers, motorcyclists, and others to protect the head.
so I guess it could be called both?Does anybody out have a feeling. This is not a subliminal message. -
From the same dictionary.com:
Mask
-A protective covering for the face or head.
Since it's primarily used to protect the face, I prefer mask. -

Array I often refer to my mask as a helmet. But I think technically it's a mask. Freedom of speech makes it easier to spot the idiots. -

Array Boring I have just realized that this topic is pretty boring and I apologize. It seemed more interesting at the time. So the new question is If you could fly would you want no wings(superman style) or wings (angel style) This is not a subliminal message. -

Array No wings, my jacket would not fit right and they would probably ban its use in saber. I call it a mask since it only cover the face and not the back of the head. Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

Array No wings (can you imagine what a hassle they could be in the shower/tub ... driving ... sleeping ... on windy, non-flying days ... I have too much time on my hands today). And I'd never heard the head-covering thingies called anything other than masks until we started fencing with our current club last year. 'Helmet' still sounds strange, will probably always call mine a mask. (But then, I still call the bossy person at the side of a strip a director, not a referee. *shrug* ) -

Array hmmm wings'd get you chicks like crazy-mad.
"hey babe, I'm an angel"
"how hunky!"
ad lib. et cetera.
But try sleeping on your back.... or putting on a jacket... or a tee-shirt... or anything besides long flowing robes made of purest shimmering white. But then, the robes'd probably help with the getting chicks... And then imagine molting.. urgh. Do angels molt? heaven must look like shit at that time of the year...
But then, flying without wings, you'd have to have your hands in that weird position, the whole punching the air thing. (unless you're Neo, but if you were Neo, then, well, you can do fucking ANYTHING). I prefer the Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy version.
The Guide says there is an art to flying. Or rather, a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
So there you have it. Go out and start practicing. -

Why not get the best of both? I say wings, but not just any wings! The bird like kind that fold up close to my back. That way life can be conveniant, and I can still get chicks. The sweet is never sweet without the sour. -

ANd then it'd be all killer gothic and if anyone ever pissed me off I could spread them their full like 12 ft span and stand on tippy toes and shove out my chest and scare the hell out of anyone thinking about messing with me! Hell yeah! -
I wouldn't mind wings much... Bartelby and Loki did okay keeping them under wraps in Dogma... so I should be able to as well.

Array I would prefer to call it a mask. It protects the face, not the head. Our head is still protected but that's not really the main point. -

Array Ok, folks, its mean to protect your FACE. On all the frickin websites, they call it a mask, not a helmet. I've never heard of a 1600n helmet, you? Its a mask folks, capisce? "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Array Hill, you are incorrect.
It is spelled capisce. It is Italian for "understand."
If you are speaking with a Sicilian accent, it is pronounced "gabeesh." Freedom of speech makes it easier to spot the idiots. Similar Threads -
