    FIE-N StM epee blades.

Just got one of these and plan on using it tomorrow at practice and for a few upcoming tourneys if my new Vniti “titanium” bell guard shows up in time. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience with either the FS or StM FIE-N epees and what everyone thought of them. I was originally planning on getting one of the Negrinni Screwless/one wire tips and make it a completely experimental blade but decided I would play with one thing at a time and not mount a tip on a blade when I did not have any spares for it. I am really going to try one of those out one of these days though!

I have high hopes for the FIE-N blades as I generally like the StM FIE blades but their fairly short life combined with their cost put me off. for about $60 the FIE-N blades would seem to be a good value if the live up to the hype. I will post a longer review in the product section once I have used it a bit and encourage anyone who has one to do the same.

I don't like them because unlike maraging steel... they rust. I bought one to try it out, I didn't like the feel of it very much (though that could have been the individual blade) and it started to rust... I gave it to the club I used to fence with.

Out of curiosity was that an FS or StM and if it was an StM was it a colored blade? The colored ones seem to fight off rust a bit better, although they deffinetly will over time. Thanks for letting me know your experaince with it!

    STM FIE-N Blades

I have been using them almost exclusively since Summer Nationals, and I love them. I have not had any problems with their durability, and they still have remained a fairly stiff blade.
