Where to practice/compete on Long Island, in New York? Does anyone know where are good placees to practice on Long Island? I'd like to sign up with a club or some instructor. Also, any idea as to upcomming events for Epee within the New York area? -
hi, come down to the fencing center of long island, located in farmingdale. It's a friendly, well-run club. THere are competitions on the premises frequently. They're open 7 days a week. THeir number is 516-847-3813. Good luck.

Unconfirmed
Array I would call several schools. Ususally fencing clubs/salles are run out of schools, either a private school or a public school. Nassau Community College, Hofstra University, Post College, Farmingdale University, also the YMCA or the YWCA's on Long Island or Queens New York should have some classes available. The local Y's are generally very good.
Also, check through the web sites for locations. www.fencing.net has a search engine. If you really get stuck, call the New York Athletic Club and ask them for their assistance.

Check out the usfa website also. www.usfencing.org
There's the Long Island Division and the Metro NYC Division.
