USFCA Moniteur Certification

I am trying to gather information about the USFCA
Moniteur certification. The USFCA apparently has a written as well as a
practical exam. How does one prepare for these exams?

The certification guide on the USFCA's web site seems to provide
"general" guidelines about what the candidate needs to know. However
I believe there is a lot more to passing these USFCA exams than what
is specified in the certification guide. It seems to me that even at the
Moniteur level, exam questions are not limited to technical "How to"
type questions. There are tactical level questions about
"When", "What", and "Why" certain actions should be performed.

The USFCA recommends certain paths to prepare for the exam.

1) USFCA regional clinics. Are the materials covered in these clinics a
good foundation? Are these clinics offered at the Pan American
Fencing Academy in San Antonio only ? I can not find a web site
for the PAFA .

2) USFA Coaches College classes. Although these classes seem to provide
a good foundation, but is the material covered in these classes relevant
to the "format" of the USFCA exams ? After all, USFA fencing coaches
college and USFCA are different and separate organizations.
