Similar Circumstances I initially didn't plan on participating in a tournament yesterday, but last week my 84 year old fencing teacher inquired if I was attending so that he could "hitch a ride" with me. Having no pressing plans, I said, "Sure", let's go!
So yesterday I picked him up at 7:00 AM and off we went!
I helped set up equipment, directed bouts and for the first time since I started competing this year, won my first tournament and an E rating!
In a strange way, I don't think I could have planned for this to happen. I was relaxed throughout the day which most likely impacted my fencing.
Has anyone else experienced similar circumstances? I live to fence and fence to live!! -
well..not the same, but i usually do alot better in most things when im not pushing myself too hard. Just letting it happen
Congrats on the E by the way!! -

reminds me of a chap i used to play squash with. he was good, but i could take some points off him despite ( i hope i fence better than i squash:rolleyes . then one day he comes back from a weekend away, during which he indulged in some weed. he was unstoppable. he beat some of the best chaps at the courts, that day. all with the most casual of attitudes. goes to show, it aint only fencing, its sport in general. --------------
...and after the spanking....
