You say "Hey, you Canadians! How about getting out of that pool?"
(I didn't say we tell good jokes about them)

Per my earlier posts regarding the NDP. Please disregard the rhetoric.
There were protestors (far less than expected...in fact the CTV reported that the police outnumbered the protestors 4:1 because they anticipated more!!)
butnothing to write home about.
People have the right to voice there opinions, but again...I sound like a broken record...this was not an official summit meeting!!! It was the traditional visit by thePresident to Canada. If you were expecting the sky to turn green, you were to be surely disappointed!!

| Anyone know if there is any truth to the rumour that GWB declined to address parliament because of the fear of being heckled?

| I don't know. It didn't stop him from addressing the Canadian Parliament last year, though. |

| It was speculation on behalf of the media that GWB would address parliament, and also that he be heckled. An invented story since his visit was not an official state visit, and wouldn't include addressing parliament anyways!
It's a red herring. All these comments about GWB would've/could've....but it was never in the original plan for his visit to Canada!
There probably would have been some heckling. (If you ever see our parliament even without foreign statemen, its can be a real bloodbath!!! Or like petty school children making fun of each other!)

According to the story, upon arriving at the chamber he was greeted by the sight of men screaming at each other, throwing things, and one member being physically restrained from leaping into the benches to attack another.
Appalled, he turned to the Sergeant At Arms at the door to ask, "What is going on?" to which he received the laconic reply, "Your Majesty, it is just Lords debating."
