My, what a breathtaking sweep of assumptions about the inner workings of the Administration and the minds and motives therein...

    6) Kick Karl Rove out of the Republican party

Come back to the real world, we'll miss you if you go off the deep end...

Any one of these things would cause me to change my opinion of the man

However, my really large peeve with the man is that he acts dumb to get more votes. When did intellectualism become bad?
I don't know, but politics is a game I but dimly understand. Though it must be admitted that the most titanic of intellects is useless unless it can get into a position to act...

That was "=", not "+20%=", but "=", right?

I apologize, I should have searched for the squiggly equalls sign. ALT-170, ALT-171, ALT, 172......

    Notice, I said "about right".

Also, I know what "equals" means, and there's really no reason to do a copy-paste from some dictionary website to make your post look more important.

    Now you're just being mean

But yes, my opinion would change. As mrbiggs said, any one of the points listed fall into the category of the Bush platform. To change one of them would be a dramatic reversal. Plus, I don't think my opinion of the man can get much lower. The only direction is up!

Assuming motives not in evidence, in order to level an ad hominem attack. Tsk.

OK, fine. What were your motives, then, in posting the entire dictionary definition of "equals", including a pronunciation guide and the part of speech (Adjective)? As I already explained, we are limited to the hundred something symbols on the keyboard to explain our veiwpoints. I said "about" and "80%". I DO realize that Bush has more of a platform than that. But not all that much more.

I don't really feel that bad about "leveling an ad hominem attack" because posting a dictionary definition of "equals" is just a bit insulting to the intelligence of everyone involved in a discussion.

To point out that = does not mean what you were using it to indicate---and I posted the whole entry so that there would be no question of having left out an obscure tertiary connotation which might have been claimed to apply. Thoroughness, IOW. Context.

So, why not write something like "Bush seems to obsess mostly about X, Y and Z"? Or "Bush seems to dedicate his attention to little more than A, B and C?" Why use a symbol at all?

Or maybe you're just a bit oversensitive?

Or maybe your game is a tad overplayed and boring.
Having discussion with you is about as pointless as pissing into the wind.

Oh, Inq's just practicing obfuscation. Notice how cleverly he's turned the discussion from the original article into a semantics debate.

    Damned cunning of him...

Someone really needs to get a watery tart to chuck a scimitar of supreme executive power at Mr. Bush. And not be gunned down by Secret Service agents in the process.

Even the title of this thread is a joke. And that was my impression before I read some of these lame posts trying to defend the actions of a President Gone Wild.

You've gotta explain that one. How was Pox saying anything with "no kindness in his heart" ? It sure looks to me like just a "hey, cool!" post.
