    Cross-fencing

This thought was inspired by the SCA FENCING IS A JOKE thread. I am not referring to some deviant fencing behavior, rather an attempt to bout someone who uses other than the standard fencing technique (e.g. SCA style, Kendo, fillipino stick fighting etc.)
I used to take Kendo (Japanese style of fencing), and a teamate was curious to see what it would be like to cross swords with a different style. We stopped when I noticed my coach rolling his eyes.

Hehehe, that does sound interesting. Like I've said before.. it depends upon the people involved and the prowess of the fighters.

Just fence after class. That would be interesting. Different styles will help you become more versatile in a bout.

Whereas I was envisioning two tall, lanky epeeists going at it in sequins and high heels.....

I have occasionallly gotten cross at an obtuse referee, but it has not affected my fencing.
