    Leon Paul FIE Sydney Jacket!!!

OK, I am psyched to say the least.

I ordered the sydney jacket last week (from Craig), not having the opprtunity to try it on and based completely on my GREAT satisfaction with the LP FIE Contour fit Mask that I have.

I have been wearing the Uhlmann World Cup Jacket, which is a more than adequate and really quite nice, BUT, I have to say there is simply no comparison!!! Not only is this TRULY a stretch jacket, but the fit is perfect (cut slightly larger than the Uhlmann) and the details of this jacket are VERY well thought out. Even such minor things as the crotch strap having a stitched end so as to avoid unraveling and a nice thick neck band and blade trap...I am extremely impressed with the quality of the workmaship on this stuff.

Having said that, I ordered this through Craig and LP USA. I was originally told that there were none in my size currently available, but it turned out there were. It seems like (I MIGHT be wrong) that the stock is maintained in the UK still and that LP USA doesn't maintain stock, but rather is a conduit for ordering only. Either way, I received it in about a week and I am just stoked!!! Thanks for getting that turned around so quickly!!!

I'll post a review once I have had the chance to fence in it a bit. But right out of the bag, the comfort, fit and feel of this is waaaay better than my Uhlmann, with which I have been generally very happy.

    Yipeeeeeee!!!!

Please, do. That was/is the jacket I'm considering. I'm particularly interested in the sweat-wicking capabilities.

Sweet...that's the look I was going for...it's hard to look sexy in a white straight jacket, but if this does it...hell, maybe i'll buy another one. ;-)

I don't know yet about the wicking, but I do know it is nice and stretchy and the collar is REALLY nicely done. Nice, since I got drilled in the throat last night...OUCH!!!

OK, having now had the opprtunity to fence in this jacket a bit, I have to say...feakin' SWEEEEEEEEEET! I am psyched. It is very stretchy, seems to wick the sweat well and the fit is a little bit more generous than my Uhlmann, which right now I am appreciating. I like the details that they have considered and it is VERY well made. The wrists and sleeves are very well done and fit nicely inside my glove.

Having said all that...I fenced epee last night for the first time. I definitely felt the hits a bit more with this jacket than with my Uhlmann World Cup, which is stiffer material. Aside from that though a kickass jacket!!!

PS...a plastron kinda helped...would have been nice for someone to inform my idiot rookie self that youneed to wear one of those while fencing epee. what the hell do I know???
