Array SoCal Schedule's up! I know this should be in the tournaments section, but almost no one goes there so...
Okay, all you Californians...the SoCal Division schedule is up (through
JOs). Some of the event start times have yet to be determined, and we don;t
know if we'll be in the gym or the Bob Hope Center at Chaminade HS, but keep
checking back. I anticipate having the updates in this week. http://www.socalfence.org

Array Geez, not only is the Bay Area's schedule up, it's up for all three divisions, NorCal, CenCal, and Mountain Valley, PLUS, it's up for all senior, veteran, junior, Y14, Y12, and Y10 events, AND it's up for all dates through to next July (Summer Nationals). All venues have been determined, and the only thing left is check-in close times, which are announced within two weeks of the event. First event: September 8 in Santa Cruz. Any men's foilists interested in getting a whupping should attend. We expect the top 8 fencers to be A's: Sean McClain, Alex Wood, Dmitri Kirk-Gordon, me, Eli Miloslavsky, Gerald Cheng, Kevin Urbain, Michael Pacheco, maybe several others. It'll be a tough tournament. The Category-2 event for the up-and-coming fencers will be a bit easier, though no less smaller. www.olagrande.net/users/edew/baycup/schedule.html

Array That's what I love about yer, Eric...you tactful replies.
I was going to draft a more scathing response, but thought better of it. Suffice to say when you average 500+ people in your division and have events at one location, scheduling is a bit of a problem. I posted the schedule the same day we drafted it.
Given that you're way up in Northern Cal, it's hardly a worry to you anyway, and it's not your division, so why the sarcastic comment? -

Array Competitive nature. Whoo-hoo! We got our schedule out first. We win. That's the nature of the sport and what it does to people's outside activities. Here at Stanfoo, we have an overhead reel system which requires us to connect the two reel ends together (using the clips) and then toss the connected reel ends up to catch it on a hook. That simple act has become a major competitive endeavor. It's amazing how just some simple task becomes a competition. Similar Threads -
