    Middle Ground

OK, gang we have been whalloping each other for months now with great arguments for both sides. So how can the people of the nation come together and find a workable livable society. I don't feel we can call ours a "progressive" society right now, how do we get back to some level of respect and decorum.

    have at it!

Foreign opinions greatly appreciated as I you think we are all crazy anyhow.

There is no turning back. The die is cast, the camel's back broken, the last straw lay burning on the floor. We live in a time of turmoil, where the reins of destiny have slipped once again into the cold, laughing hands of fate. The days ahead are shrouded in a fog of uncertainty, hiding the potential precipice of America's future. The yelping of the Dogs of War can be heard in the distance, growing always and ever closer. A hyperborian wind blows the sparks of a hundred million forges aloft as plowshares are beaten back into the swords that they have hidden for so long. The bleak ground grows thirsty in anticipation of the initial skirmishes between the right and the righter. The hawks circle overhead, eyeing the distance for the next battle to be fought.

And so passes the days of man and thus enters the world unto the days of the cockroach.
"Since when does being a patriot in America mean shutting your mouth?"

We can all live sociably when the other side is dead...

Or, more seriously, when they're out of power...

Or, more seriously, when they kill us.

I tried to cover them all. I think I even managed to slip a Biblical reference and a couple of literary devices...

To return this thread to its original theme:

John McCain and Joe Lieberman on a Presidential ticket together (I don't care which is Prez and which is VP).

Gods, no. Lieberman is in some/most cases more conservative that Bush...

I remember feeling much the same when Nixon was elected, and somehow the Four Horsemen held off their visit then. Our great experiment in democracy will survive Bush II, though at some point beyond him it will break apart from the centrifugal forces of class struggle and the pieces picked up foreign imperialists. Happens all the time in world history. As they say, "Dear, the peasants are revolting".

Try looking that issue up sometime. It's amazing how much people read into the idea of the rapture, with so little actual information about it...

"We are all Britons. And I am your king."

I've acually done a bit of reading about the Rapture, but if we're going to start discussing the Millenialists, we need a different thread...
