Availability of Metal Strips - USA The Northwestern University Fencing Team/Club (Chicago, Illinois, USA) is considering replacing their current metal piste system, and is entertaining offers to purchase the old ones: any, or all.
The system consists of perforated aluminum plating, approximately 4 feet by 6 feet and approximately 1/8" thick: 12 panels comprise a strip. Grounding is easily achieved by stringing a continuous bare wire underneath the length. There are 10 sets. (unmatched)
These were used on an occasional basis for about 10 years (estimated approximately 75 tournament days), surface wear is minimal. However, through repeated assembly/disassembly, and use on a soft surface, many panels have been noticably warped, and it has become difficult to secure the mating edges of the panels in a temporary installation.
The material WOULD be VERY suitable for any club/team which can make a permanent installation.
This material is located in Evanston, Illinois. Shipping would be at buyer's expense.
