How many times do you fence?

I would like to be a top fencer. That is about as simple as I can put it. But, being a top fencer takes going to fencing a lot, and that takes a lot of time from my parents (or anyone who is taking me), and they want to know how often people 18 years and under fence at their club(s) in one week (not including competitions. If anyone has advice on how to go more often (not including the train, I'm not aloud to do that until next year), then please tell me.

    Thanks!!

    Monday--Team practice, 8:30-10:30

    Tuesday--Sabre practice, 5:00-6:30
    Small group bouting 8:30-11:30

    Wednesday--Team Practice, 8:30-10:30

    Thursday--Sabre practice, 5:00-6:30
    Team Practice 8:30-11:30

    Friday--Small Group Bouting 4:30-6:30

Depending on schedules, we sometimes practice on Sat. as well. tounaments down here are usually on Sundays.

    Yeah, we fence a bit.

But--This is a college team, at a very small school in the middle of the country where there is literally nothing else to do in your free time. And I am by no means a "top fencer" I have a whole 3 months under my belt

We had this exact thread maybe two weeks ago.

I'm not trying to be obnoxious, but if you find that one, you'll get better poll results. And a discussion, most likely.

That's lessons a week though... isn't that different from a group practice?

Two classes a week, 90 minutes each.

I practice three times a week at home.

4 times on weeks that don't have competitions; 3 times if there are competitions.

That's sooooo unfair!! I have trouble convincing my poor mom to drive me to suburbs that are ages away from where we live 3 times a week! I rarely fence three times a week, but on every day that I don't fence, I practice for 1 1/2 hrs, so I suppose it's not that bad... Do your parents take you (this applies to anyone 18>)?

My parents use to drive me to all the different things I had to do 3-4 times a week. Now that I'm not able to be claimed as their dependant, I drive me self to and fro, wandering the land like that dude from Kung-Fu. As an aside, is one week enough time to spend in Australia?

It really depends on where you're going, Oz isn't as exotic as South Africa for example.
