Array Republican no longer equates with conservatism.
I saw a bumper sticker that read,
Republicans, Growing government slower.
The point is both sides want Government control to grow (for the greater good, of course) it's just that they think their way is the best way to win power from the voters that they make promises to. Republicans claim fiscal responsibility. Democrats claim to want to make the country fair. Both sides want power and have their plan on how to get it. Benjamin Franklin when asked by a woman, "What kind of government have you given us?" Replied, "A Republic Madam, if you can keep it!"
