Why the US Communist party and Arafat?

I was under the impression that the communists were fronting their own candidate. Care to cite sources?

Kerry lost gracefully, did not go for a long drag-out like the last election - alleviating my fears, actually.

The least we can do is win gracefully.

Noodle, Soldier, lighten up. My post was as innocuous as one could write. No curse words or grand statements on why the outcome was the way it was. I merely wrote nya, nya, nya. Geeze.

    All I'm gonna say

If the next four years are a success, I'll renounce every negetive thing I've said about the president. I'll eat my words, letter by letter. However, if they turn out as I think they will, it will be on your heads, not mine.

    My conscience is clear.

And no more blaming the Democrates for failures. The Republicans have the keys to the car, as they've had since 2004. All credit and blame goes to them. They'll take the former, no doubt, but will have no excuses anymore for any failure of idea, policy or execution. Let's test this for accountability next cycle.

    Jeff,

Unfortunately, you are vastly overestimating the capabilty of the morality crowd that voted for Bush to change. Facts, science, etc., sadly matter little or not at all to them. The only thing that will change their minds is something that changes their fundamental beliefs, and unfortunately, it will probably take a catastrophic event to do that.

See this article in today's Washington Post for a portrait: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...-2004Nov4.html.

Note too that I am in no way talking about all Bush voters, but those who belong to this demographic--which unfortunately is what the Republican Party treats as its "base."

Personally, I much prefer people are constantly testing their beliefs and are able to change if they think their beliefs form an inaccurate world picture to people who stick to their guns no matter what.

If the President does things correctly for the next four years, I will become a Right-Wing Religious Republican, but only when a more conservative candidate isn't running.

Increase in employment. Oh sure, those are the people the Republicans hired to vote for George Bush. Hang on until December when the party doesn't need them anymore and they all get laid off again!

Stock Market rise. All the Wealthiest Americans who had pulled their investments in fear of another "economy killing act" from the Bush Administration. Sighing in relief that they would have a few months of rebound before he has time to do something stupid again.

I should note that the specific stocks that rose were of companies such as Haliburton and Lockheed, etc. I don't see that as a posititive so much as damning.

I'm afraid you're right... not an issue of intelligence, but of clinging to opinions "no matter what". I also believe in challenging pols to deliver - regardless of their affiliation.

Re: the employment figures. It's nice that more people got jobs, but note also that unemployment went up 0.1% and that there is still a net loss in jobs for this administration.

Don't know about Halliburton, but does it not occur to you that Lockheed just recently secured the contract for the F-35? You don't think that might have something to do with increasing stocks?
