Fencing Shoes Resoled??

Has anyone out there had success in having fencing shoes resoled? I've approached several shoe repair shops and invariably they say that they don't carry any material even close to the rubber sole on my Adidas Adistars. One guy suggested that he could do it if I could get the replacement material. (Not sure where to start there)

EpeeMike81- you responded to my post about fencing shoe durability indicating that you'd had success in having fencing shoes resoled. Was the material they used similar to the original?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've had three or four pairs resoled. They worked fine, I actually had a pair resoled twice. Funny, it was the Addidas Seoul -- never thought about it until now. I thought most shoes cobblers would carry a rubber replacement bottom. Even the Meijer's (like a Super K or Wal Mart Plus) shoe dept resoled a pair once.

The resoled shoe last for another year. Cost around $25-30.

My post did not say I have had them resoled. I know somebody who has, and so I know it can be done. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Miguelito, most shoe repair shoes will just replace it with a normal sneaker sole. One of my friends has had it done and is quite happy with the results. If you want the "flatness" of a fencing sole, ask the repairer if he cant put a squash shoe sole on it.
