    Absentee ballots

Why does everybody(AKA the Pundits) think that all people who vote absentee are Democrats? And if they are Democrats, what's up with that? I actually LIKE going out to vote. Don't you?

No, but it's cheaper than a stamp and there are no forms to fill out...

Maybe if there were lots of hot young women at the polling places, instead of the elderly.

Well, apparently 85% of absentee ballots went to Gore in 2000. Or so I've been told, it's an unsubstantiated number to me.

    But it would explain it.

When I went to vote, I filled in the bubbles, and then they put my ballot into something that looked very much like a paper shredder But yes, voting in person is a much more satisfying experience.

We connect arrows and then put them into the machine.

I asked which way it was supposed to go in and was told the machine would read it not matter which way it was fed in.

I have a hard time believing that since the office copier gets a paper jam every time you load it.

It's only that for the Democratic ballots. Smart machines, those.

Just something to think about--Many college students (like this one) do not reside in the precinct where they would normally vote. I would say 90 percent of people on campus here voted by absentee ballots, as we could not take off a day or more of class to go home and vote.

Factor in that most college campuses are fairly liberal places...

Still the numbers of absentee ballots don't equal the number of college students voting, unless ALL OF THEM VOTED. Do you see that happening?

It's my understanding that absentee ballots actually reflect the general voting trends. It just seemed to me that a lot of 'talking heads' seemed to think they wouldn't.
