Array Acronyms, Terms, etc. This will be a "working post" but since the terms have come up a few times and some initials have cross-pollinated, I figured this would be a valuable guide. Think of it as the equipment discussion style manual.
Post your suggestions to this thread and I'll incorporate them into this post. Forges - The following initials are reserved for forges/manufacturers of fencing blades.
BF: Blaise Frêres
DN: Dinamo
FL: France Lames
LP: Leon Paul
StM: StM
VN: Vniti Equipment Vendors and Manufacturers:
Allstar: Allstar brand fencing equipment. Sold through Blade/PC
Blade: Blade Fencing (NY)
BG: Blue Gauntlet
FP: The Fencing Post (CA)
AmFence: American Fencers Supply (CA)
Leon Paul: Leon Paul
LPUSA: Leon Paul USA
PC: Physical Chess
PBT: PBT (Hungary) or FencePBT (US Vendor)
Uhlmann: Brand of fencing equipment (uniforms, masks, etc.). Sold through various US vendors. -

It was one of the various lines of blades made by France Lame. Higher quality. I know my foil teammates when I was in college loved them for some reason (don't remember if it was how they handled, flexibility, longetivity, or some combination of the above factors).

i owned two hostin plus epee blades. they served me well while i owned them for 50$ weapons. -

Array I know it's been suggested before, but I think post should contain pics of forgers "marks". It'd be great together with the brand names.
I have a blade (russian/ukrainian/other) that I don't know who manufactured. Someone on this forum (DHCJr?) would surely know but, alas, I don't have a camera to take a pic of it. It is, however, my fave blade out of my non-FIE ones. -

RP? Maybe PR, they are kind of overlapped. It's stamped on an OLD epee blade. -

Array Do we typically abbreviate either Duellist or Cartel? This isn't a list of equipment manufacturers or vendors, it's a list of acronyms and terms. Given that, perhaps we should include on the thread FIE, USFA, BFA, BAF, USFCA, NCAA, NIWFA, IFA, etc.

Array bought a new epee from duellist the weekend and haven't noticed the forgers mark before it's NSN!!! any ideas??
I did try and get a pic on my digital camera but it wont focus in enough erm....parry ...riposte....oops...argh!!....run awwaaayyyy!!! -
