Yes that is good news. We will have to see if the equipment changes work.
Along with those changes there also has to be a change in the way actions
are called as I am sure that motion forward, rather then extended arm, will
still count as the attack.

Dear List Members,
For those who do not follow the modern sport of fencing, please be informed
that the "flick" no longer exists. A change in equipment has made it
impossible to score with the "flick." This is certainly a step in the right
direction and credit must be given to the USFA and FIE for taking this
direction.
