a) I don't need an article to tell me that electronic voting is 'tarded. That's...very easy to anyone who is not a politician, apparently. I STILL can't beleive they're actually doing it.
b) If the author is concerned about people changing the votes, why would he tell them how to do it? -

Array to show how easy it is so there will be a public outcry and they'll stop. Or at least, that's their logic. -
But if the Republicans screw up the election, no one will ever know, probably. If some 13-year-old wannabe hacker changes them all to Libertarian votes, the country will dissolve in chaos. Why? Because if Florida's votes can all be changed to Nader, who KNOWS where else they were changed more subtly? -

Array I agree. That's the point of the article. There's no f-ing paper trail to follow if we do get screwed over. -

Array oh, and by the way, George Bush shows management potential. -

Array ...and what does this tell you about the current outcome...?
"Breath deep the gathering gloom....." Sorry, but you can't believe anything I say. I always lie. In fact, I'm lying now.
"Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name,..."
Oh, yes, BTW..."non iligitimi carborundum", look what happened to me. -

Array When a vote gets manipulated it would involve replacing the paper ballots with other ones marked differently, allowing duplicate votes from the same voters, or extra votes from fake or deceased votors.
I guess its good that they found some of the things that can be done to the evoting..but I am amazed that people think the paper ones are that much better. -

Actually, funny story-one of the most frustrating things that ever happened to me was a few years ago when I was writing the big Paper of the Year that summed up everything I did Freshman year in High School. I try to save it....error. Try to print....nope. Try to copy-paste into another program...no. So I could SEE the paper, and I could TYPE more of it, but it was doomed, because I had to restart the computer to print.
And that's why evoting is inferior to paper. -

And that's why evoting is inferior to paper. Let me guess. You were writing the paper in Word and it told you there was insufficient space on your hard drive even though you had a few gigabytes of free space. If you see my little red rooster, please drag him home
If you see my little red rooster, please drag him home
There ain't no peace in the barnyard,
Since the little red rooster been gone
