Array Inq For Pres. My nomination for the presidency in 2008: Everyone's Favorite Curmudgeon, INQUARTATA!!!
I suggest as a running mate: TIREUR!
I wonder who JEFF (the most obvious opposition nomination) will pick as a running mate? -

Array Why don't I get to be Inq's running-mate? Campaign manager, at least? Maybe a cabinet position? -

Array If nominated I will not run; if elected I will not serve.
Now, if you're offering the position of Emperor for Life, OTOH... -

Array I was thinking of trying something new...instead of a conservative and a moderate, I was thinking just two righties... -
Hi!
For once - someone who can hold a candle against Fidel Castro when it comes long speeches!
Have a nice time!

Array Alas, no! Oh, I can certainly write some prolix pieces, but speeches? If I had to deliver such orally I'd probably make Bush look eloquent. Which no doubt informs at least in part my inclination to give Bush the benefit of the doubt on the inarticulate=stupid argument... -

Peter Gustafsson Well, he's getting there, but Fidel can still hold forth like no man on Earth. Have you ever listened to or watched one of his addresses? The man is a marvel. Utterly nuts and dangerous, but a marvel.

Array Heh, unless the guy building the stage incorporates a little preemptive strike...
And ( one hopes ) hastily flees the country before the trap is sprung! -

I don't know; even though he's Canuck-ian, I think jBirch would give Inq a run for his money...
Proposed ballot: Inquartata/Tireur vs. Jeff/jBirch (as VP only because he's from North of the Border) Nothing is more frightening than ignorance in action. -

Array Thanks Lochinvar. It was somebody named William, at least!
Running mate for me? How about Schiavona, because Alaska never gets attention, and it would provide geographic balance: if you average out me in NJ and him in Alaska, it would come plunk down in the middle. Also would be happy with Tireur in a National Reconciliation party to heal the wounds of the last 4 (8, 12, 16, 20... whatever your yardstick says) years. Besides, he's got extremely sensible opinions especially on the subject of beer. "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -

Array Hmmm...balancing New Jersey with Alaska...well, it makes a weird sort of sense--their populations are inversely proportional to their size...
There's a reason why Alaska never gets any attention, Jeff: caribou and Kodiak bears don't vote. With a whopping 3 electoral votes, they weigh in right up there with Vermont, Wyoming, Delaware, Montana, both Dakotas, and the District of Columbia...sorta sad when you consider the size of the place...
Hear, hear for the beer! Tireur is our Man on a White Beer Truck!

Array All of North Dakota, for example, shares one area code. I actually saw a t-shirt about it one time:
"701: 70,000 square miles!" -

Array Jeff and Schiavona in 2008! Bumper stickers, here...get your bumper stickers while they're hot... Nothing is more frightening than ignorance in action.
