This poll is not public, so don't worry about people finding out about your economic status or lack thereof.

I believe that Mo indicated that she is a USFA member that does not fence. I think that she has a family membership but she is a non-competitive member just like my wife or daughter.

I have a 3-year because I hate the usfa and want them to get as little of my money and at as far apart as possible intervals.

But, if I may even flatter myself, that they may be productive of some partial benefit, some occasional good; that they may now and then recur to moderate the fury of party spirit, to warn against the mischiefs of foreign intrigue, to guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism; this hope will be a full recompense for the solicitude for your welfare, by which they have been dictated." - George Washington

Gosta go with the 3-yr plan. This way I can use layaway.

3-year for me, because I joined towards the end of a membership year and didn't want to mail out money again so soon.

I considered becoming a life member, but I'm young. And what if I lose my legs or something? Then it's 1000 wasted.

Yeah, makes MUCH more sense to buy the lifetime membership when you're 90. :)

For reference, lifetime membership is now $1200. It increased along with everything else at the beginning of the quadrennial.

I know three lifers in my area.
Until I can afford that level, I'll keep investing in three years at a time.

It's a requirement that someone on this board complain about any poll, regardless of how it's put together. I just wanted to be the first on the thread.

No, but when you're REALLY young, well, I might decide I hate fencing in two years. Or maybe I'll get a job somewhere where there is no fencing. Better to wait until I'm better situated.

Bound to be a lot like me - been 'fencing' for 14 years (never lifted a blade mind) and spent countless fortunes on two sons!
