Still a place that I can order a drink, pay with a $20 and get more than twenty in return.... |

| Edmonton? Damn.
I suppose it was too much to hope for it to be in driving distance three years in a row. Of course, one guy from my club said that he'd be willing to drive a bunch of people in his van, even if it was in Alberta ...
As for the date, it's usually in May or June. It could be a bit later, but it'll definitely be before September.
(This is assuming you mean Summer Nationals. If it's the Elite Nationals, I'm certainly not going ...)

| The Cdn Nationals is always on Victoria Day long weekend. Vicotria Day 2005 is on 2005/05/23.
Edmonton is a 12-hr drive from Vancouver BC even with a vanful of fencers, including the stops.
Jujie should be happy that Edmonton got the Nationals again.

kalivor,
why don't you put at least the province you're in in your titles, or are you ashamed of your province.
--)----------
To all our American friends,
Thanks to President Shrub, the Cdn economy, the Cdn dollar etc. are doing much better than the US-equivalent.
the physical Cdn bills are also much better: colour-coded, like most other countries' bill note except the US of A, and now with new counterfeit prevention features: http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/banknotes/index.html
Also, the Bank od Canada is issuing a new quarter featuring a red poppy - the red will rub off from use - to commemorate what we Cdns call Remembrance Day, your Veterans Day.
Another thing:
In Canada, we have a federal agency controlling federal elections, so the rules are the same across the country, unlike the patchwork in the US.
I personally can't imagine doing electronic voting WITHOUT a paper trail. Can you imagine the fun the election officials may have???? How can you do a recount? You can't!!! an the returning officer in the States are elected! not unbiased career bureaucrats. Just remember Florida 2000!
:Shudder:

| Are non-Canadian fencers eligible to compete in this event? (For that matter, can non-US fencers compete at US Nationals?) |

| Dee EffEll (I do so love the name), the deal is, Cdn Nats are open to Canadian residents only. So either you've got to find a way to establish residency = have a Canadian fencing membership (whether or not its a true address is up to you ), or you can't fence. This is pretty much the one thing they wont let you fence as an American on a USFA membership.
But they're good to watch, and there's a Triplette vender there typically. |
