| Um...howzit going? Buenos dias and whatnot!!!
I'm new to the group and wanted to say hello. Over in the general discussion area we are having a chat about what to name my weapons. Please feel free to weigh in, as the best answer I have gotten so far is Simon Lebon. And to be honest, I'm just not sure I can do that and maintain my masculinity intact.
I'm new to fencing...again. I fenced a little bit as a kid and I just got back into it a couple of months ago. It's like learning to walk again. I'm having a blast with it though, aside fom getting a pretty good flogging last night from a kid who can't be more than about 10...damn he presents a small target and is QUICK!!!
To paraphrase from my favorite movie Cool Runnings, "Greetings sword Gods!!!" |

| Glad I could amuse. You should see me fence...you'd be REALLY amused.
I came up with a few ideas:
Cartoon names and foreign dictators. if i can't be good (yet), I might as well have weapons that SOUND scary.

| Now THAT is a great idea!!!!! I'd never wonder if my weapons were mine. Tough to get stickes of dictators though...might have to stick to the cartoon characters.
Hmmma conundrum. Might have to find a Mussolini or Stalin sticker. |

| Perhaps you should name your foil "sabre". That's the only way it can ever be cool, heh heh! |

| Biased much towards sabre Inqueranta??? hehehe
Actually i can't wait to start fencing sabre. As far as I am concerned, a discipline where you can BOTH jab AND whack your opponent sounds great!!! Don't get me wrong...I love the jabbing, but it seems to me there must be something very satisfying about a well execute WHACK!
I figure I'd better figure out how to NOT embarass myself with the foil before starting sabre though...but that IS the plan.
Whack away, my friend!!! |
