Hesitation attacks What are the key things to a hesitation attack and are there particular types?
Oh, and to avoid posting another thread for a small point, what are your thoughts on substituting flicks with angulated hits? What are the advantages/disadvages of using them? -
the key is to not do it when you don't need one.
flicks had a distinct advantage because they were a circular attack (i'm pulling in martial arts training/terminology, excuse me) which required a wide, straight parry to deal with. straight attacks, angulated or no, will be more easily parryable than flicks. they're not a good replacement to consider. i do think, though, that they're going to be used a little more often now with the new timings, as people can feint flick, the defender thinking "hey that won't land, lemmie just counter" and turning the flick into an angulated straight attack ("attack from above", anyone?)
