on this site www.fencingsucks.com/ theres a song called "The fencers song" quite funny. That and the iron maiden songs are the only fencing related songs I know of, mind you my knowledge of songs isn't that grand.
"The pen may be mightier than the sword - except for in a duel."
"I had to get up in the morning at 10 o'clock at night 1/2 an hour before i had to go to bed, drink a cup of sulfuric acid, work 29 hours a day down down mill unpaid and have to pay for permission to come to work and when we came home our dad and our mum would kill us and dance around on our grave singing hallelujah!"

There's a song from 1982 called "Total Eclipse of the Heart" performed by Bonnie Tyler. The video featured a sorta haunted boys school and there were fencing scenes in the video. The clash of the blades you can hear in the song, foils as percussion instruments.

The SCA used to sing a song,"The rapier game", to the tune of "The patriot game".

What, no mention of Billy Idol's fencing song? Surely I'm not the only one who remembers 'Fleche for Fantasy'...

I think the composer is Khachaturian and the ballet is Gayne. I love that song!

    Hi!

    From the Danish National anthem:

"Han svengende sin vaerge så fast, så att den gennem gotens hjelm och hjerne brast"

    My translation:
"He Swung his epee (sword in general?) so hard, so that it through gothic helm and brain smashed."

    Have a nice time!

Bruce Dickinson, the singer 1982-1993 and1999-present he had an English ranking, at Epeé I believe... somewhere between 5th and 7th...

He also founded and owns 'Duellist'
    Duellist
    Duellist USA

Oddly enough, he didn't have a hand in writing the Maiden song 'The Duellist'... it was written by Steve Harris, the bassist.

So that could be why they do...

"You'll die as you lived IN THE FLASH OF THE BLADES..."

Oh, and "sunlight, falling on your steel death in life is your ideal life is like a wheeel"

"il take you and your blade, break ya both in twoo, break ya both in two!"

LUDICROUS - 16 year old fencer obsessed with iron maiden - long before I got into fencing, I got into Maiden. Perhaps Bruce Dickinson is using subliminal messaging to make us fence?

Sun and Steel is about a Samurai... Miyamoto Musashi.

But the Trooper's related to fencing in that the light brigade are cavalry, and calvary use sabres...
