Array New timing for Favero Minis ???? Trying to train fencers on this new time is like pulling teeth. Has anyone tried modifying the Favero Mini (the little buzz box you can where on your wrist) to the 15ms debounce timing?
Or does anyone know if a new Favero Mini has the new timing.
Searching for any way to get the new timing now w/o buying new machines (yet!)
cheers

Array I know we made enquiries to have our scoring boxes upgraded - the change of chip costs £25 and they were readily available.

Array Favero does not seem to have upgraded or redesign them as of yet. The idea is excellent, but I am not sure that the minis can be upgraded. I will open mine and give you my opinion this weekend.
I think that adding a capacitor inline (which has to be charged before signaling) will have the effect of increasing the debounce time. -

That was pretty much what I was thinking. I'm going to try and rig one this weekend as well.
Good luck -

Array If you look at the specs of the Mini-2 in the Favero website, it indicates that the contact time of the point complies with F.I.E. rules. Thus, I guess newer models will comply. http://www.favero.com/en/com/mini02.htm -

I saw that too but that has been there for a year so I am not sure if the new ones have the new timing or not. It would be nice to upgrade the ones I have if I could do it.
I'm hitting the electronics store tonight to see what they have.
Cheers
