    Foil Breaking

Just a quickie....I fenced in a club comp. and two people broke their blades on me. Is this due to my style of attacking or just one of those thangs?
    Cheers.

Didn't you get the memo? Mithril plastrons are forbidden under new FIE 4.6(g)

    1. Did they break on the touch? Meaning they bent to the point of snapping?

    or

    2. Did they break during a beat against your blade?

    also

    3. What brands of foil were you using and was it dry or electric?

    They were both point touches.

Do you have a tendency to counter attack while closing the gap? This will bend or break a firmly landed foil.

When they broke were they over bent? Were you lunging in on them? If so it might be you were too close. You could try watching your distance a little. Otherwise it is just one of those things. Foils break and club equipment gets used a lot.

Cheers for the thoughts....I do tend to counter a fair bit. Reckon I will have to change things up a bit before the club runs out of foils.

Better do it before you run out of luck.
