[CFML] Western Martial Arts Workshop 2004 --Updates as of October 7 --
There are several new changes and additions to announce.
1. Tournaments.
Both the Armor and Unarmored tournaments have been canceled by AEMMA due to
low enrollment. Instead, we have scheduled two additional hours of free
fencing on Saturday evening. Those who signed up for either or both these
tournaments will have their $25 fee refunded at the event.
2. Three-Hour Classes.
Removed: Maestro Sean Hayes has unfortunately had to cancel and his
"Late-Era Rapier" class on Friday 10:00-1:00 has been removed from the
schedule. If you were registered for this class you can switch to another
paid class by emailing your preference.
Added: In that time slot, Friday 10:00-1:00, Brad Waller and Maestro Ramon
Martinez will now be teaching a 3-hour version of "Building from the Bottom
Up—Movement and Process, the Foundations of All Martial Arts". Please note
that this is not a paid class and is open to all students.
Added: Sunday 9:00-12:00 "German Longsword" taught by Stefan Dieke of Die
Freifechter, Cologne Germany. Complete bio and class description will be up
on the site soon. This is a paid 3-hour class and requires reservation.
Class limit is 20.
Please remember that if you are already registered, do not use the
registration page to drop, add or switch three-hour classes. Instead, email
me directly or WMAW-info@ahfi.org to make changes.
3. 90-Minute Classes.
Added: Friday 10:00-11:30 Basic Principles of the I.33 Sword and Buckler
System taught by Stephen Hand.
Removed: Tom Leoni has unfortunately had to cancel. His class "Minimizing
Chaos in Rapier Play" scheduled for Saturday 12:30-2:00 has been removed.
Added: Saturday 12:30-2:00 "Introduction to Meyer's Rapier" will be taught
by Stefan Deike.
Modified: Pete Kautz has changed his Saturday 10:30-12:00 class to "And
Snatch Away Their Dagger! Knife Grappling and Disarming Tactics: Then &
Now".

Fawzi
