| Remenyik - Who's going? Just wondering who's going to the Remenyik at Northwestern, IL?
For those who don't know this tournament, it's a rather large tournament in all 6 weapons (in comparison to the 'normal' local tournaments). The tournament is for 2 days (Oct 23, 24). Link to Remenyik for more info For those in the know, do you know which time settings will be used? |

| I'm going for epee on Sunday...
Not sure about the foil timings. Would the people at NWU know? Maybe scarlet fencer knows; she lives nearby.

| I will be there on Sunday. I do not know if they will be using the new foil timings. I only know of one box in our division that has the new timings on it. Many of us were waiting to see if the new timings passed before upgrading. So my guess, and it is only a guess, would be that the old timings would be used.
The person to contact is Laurie Schiller. His e-mail address is lds307@northwestern.edu.

| I'm planning on driving down from Rochester and attending both the coaching clinic on Fri evening and the foil on Saturday.
After sleeping through Penn State (long, funny story which involves motel called the "Hitchin' Post"), I'm very much itchin' to get back into competition. I haven't done anything since Empire State Games.

| Is that the RPI open? On the 16th of this month?
I got screwed out of a sword there 2 years ago, I wouldn't mind having another go at it

| Yeah their fall tournament is the 16th of this month. Here is the e-mail from RPI: Hello!
Just sending out a reminder about the RPI Fall Open. It is Saturday, October 16. This year we are in the '87 Gym. NOT THE ARMORY WHERE WE USUALLY ARE. Foil registration closes at 9, epee at 11, and saber at 1. It is $10 per weapon. Fencing more than one weapon is encouraged. If you have beginners, they are more than welcome to come and compete. Prizes for first will be daggers and medals for second and third.
If anyone is willing to bring equipment for one strip it would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to have as many strips as possible to keep the tournament moving.
If anyone needs directions, http://66.40.170.198/connecting/directions.cfm
Any other questions, concerns, or comments (I am sure I missed something), please feel free to email me at manlec@rpi.edu
Hope to see you the 16th!
Cheers,
Cara

| I'm undecided on RPI. The last few years, the fall tournament has been pretty weak.
Plus, I'd be missing two UR practices, since we meet on Sat and Sun afternoons, and some of my fencers are starting to not suck.

Dave - CAAFC will be getting the new chips in this week, and we have eight boxes, but so far I don't know of any requests for them. If you hear one way or the other please let me know. (but then again you and I don't really care do we? heheh...) |

| I'll be there Saturday for sure, possibly Friday evening and/or Sunday.
They typically use a mix of Northwestern Boxes (mostly SGs, IIRC) and Illlinios division boxes of varying vintages-- my strong suspicion is that the old timings will be used.

| Will be there as well. Thank god I fence epee...talk about another headache for the foil and sabre fencers. Fence epee, it alleviates all that "middle man" stuff (ie, directors). All that subjective objectivity, or is it objective subjectivity (guess it depends on your perspective? ) gives me a headache. Hehe. |
