    Fencers and their (future) Kids

OK here's a poll for fencers who have kids or fencers who might/will have kids. Any age.

    EDIT:
AWWWW CRAP I wanted to post a poll, but I messed up... so anyways tell me, if you had kids, would you encourage them to fence or what? If so, when would you get them to start? Would you start as soon as possible or wait until they're like, 13?

I would try to encourage my kids to try the things I enjoy. I come from a family where I have been left more or less to my own devices to find out what I enjoy doing (as in my Dad and I played catch like three times, and any sports I know how to play I learned by watching them on tv first), and I always wanted to be like the other kids at the baseball field who's moms/dads were there with them before or after practice helping them out. So yeah I'd probably just start bringing my kids around the salle as soon as it was safe and let them decide if they want to start fencing.

My kid started fencing before I did. So would you kids encourage your parents to fence?

Probably not. It would seriously cramp my social style. On the other hand so would my future kids, of course I guess I would just have to get used to kids changing social situations anyway.

If I were to have kids, I would bring them up as fencers. If he doesn't know the en guard stance by the age of three, he is not my son.

Really, I would give them every opportunity to learn the sport, but if they don't want to, I guess that's their choice.

    Hehehehehehe!!!
I don't plan on having a kid until after I'm 30... and that's, uhh... more than 12 years! Oh and I don't want to have kids until AFTER I've accomplished what I want to do with fencing.

They started fast but faded. The good news is , they're EXCELENT musicians. There's hope of course, but they're TEENAGERS!!! ...but they're cool anyway!
I'd like them to get more exercise, and they think fencing is "cool", but TIME is the key. They said to say, "Hello!" = Dad

I'll let my kids do whatever they want within reason... if they want to fence, go for it, if they want to dance, go for it, if they want to run around chasing other kids, go for it but be nice, if they want to climb on the roof, I'll come! I'm hoping that if I have a son (or a few of them) they'll be open to things such as dance because guys never dance. (and because guys that dance are really, really hot. *cringes* I couldn't think of a better word... comely just doesn't make the same impression, eh?) I just want my children to have fun and explore the world and oppertunities presented to them.

I might consider introducing any future children to fencing, but that would only be if he didn't like baseball.

Since the name at the top of my list for boys names is "Mercutio", what do you think?
