| Hello Everybody! Howdy,
Just thought I'd drop a post. This site's been a great resource for me for a little while now, so I finally registered. Looks like there's a lot of experience that visits this site on a pretty regular basis, that's really great.
A bit about myself... I've wanted to fence since I was in Junior High school, but there weren't any clubs or programs where I grew up. After moving to the big city (or what qualifies as one where I am) and finishing college a few years ago, I finally have enough time (and money) to join a club. I've only had, er... four lessons so far, but it's been exciting, educational, and a pretty decent workout. I belong to what would probably be called a small club - there's usually about a dozen people who show up. There are also two coaches who work alternating nights. It seems to be a pretty good setup. Meetings are twice a week for an hour and a half, with some open fencing time. The coaches both seem to emphasize lots of footwork exercises at the beginning of every class, it's pretty good.
Anyway, I seem to be babbling a bit here. Thanks to everyone on this board - you helped convince me that I wanted to try out fencing - the enthusiasm everyone seems to have for the sport was a factor in my decision to stop in at the club.
Have a great day! |

| Welcome and keep at it, I'm told it will all fall in place eventually though it would be nice to know when exactly!
