Array How many times a week do you fence? How many times a week do you fence? I just want to see if I'm missing out with three times a week. I'm so cool; put me in a fridge and it gets colder!
I'm Australian and that makes me MANLY! -

Array It's extremely variable, depending on work---I have to pull odd shifts. I average 1 or 2 nights a week. Sometimes I manage 3; on the occasional week, none ( and then I am a very unhappy fellow ). I would do it every night if I could, or at least until I collapsed from exhaustion. -

Array I usually get about two to three times a week, with friday being my really good day where I can get in a good 2-3 hours of fencing. SUNY New Paltz Fencing Club -
5 x a week!
Sunday: Epee Lesson (1 hr)
Monday: Drill-Assistant to team (2.5 hrs)
Club (2.5 hrs)
Tuesday: Epee lesson, footwork and drilling (1.5 hrs)
Wednesday: Drill-Assistant to team (2.5 hrs)
Thursday: Club (3 hrs)
13 hours really still isn't enough. I've learned that there is never enough time for fencing. -

Array Twice a week of real fencing, one a week of coaching. I wish I could fence more, but I cant do to lack of clubs in the area. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Quit (no longer with us)
Array I am down to two if I am lucky. In high school and college I did it 5 days a week. After college I averaged about 4 nights a week. That stopped around 1997. -
Two or three. I do two clubs, but my job interferes so much that often I can't make it more than two or one. -

Unconfirmed
Array Bout 'play time' once a week, focused practice during bouts once a week (testing applications of lessons learned), competitive bouts once a week, and then any other fencing opportunities I can fit in otherwise.
((Of course this doesn't count time by myself for footwork and blade drills, nor coached lessons, nor any coaching assistance I provide at the club.)) -

Array I only fence once a week, sometimes twice. Not that much at all. I wish I had time to fence at least 2-3 times a week, but, the duty of being a university student calls, unfortunately. -

I fence twice a week (one class/practice type evening and one lesson/practice bouting type evening). I'd also like to put in more time, but the duty of being a University employee calls. . . the people who pay my salary kind of expect me to come in to the office and perform work in exchange. Array Five days a week, Monday through Friday. Soon to be more, once our team starts going to competitions (a week from Saturday).
I have to admit though, I been fencing 5 days a week every week since school started, and I'm starting to get a bit worn down.
Who am I kidding, this is the most fun I've had in years.

Array On a good week 5 times: 1 lesson, 2 bouting, 2+ at home practice i.e. foot work. On a bad week, 1 time. The average is usually about three times. Keep in mind that I'm doing temping work so right now I have a lot of time to do the at home practice since I am between jobs. Actually with the free time I feel that I should be doing more practice at home, but that's just me. Similar Threads -
