[CFML] Western Martial Arts Workshop 2004 --Updates as of Sept 30--

There are several updates to announce so I've broken them down into
sections:

I. Three Hour Classes:

Bob Charron's class "The Use of the Sword in One Hand According to Fiore dei
Liberi" is closed.
Brad Waller's synopsis for "Understanding Technique in Process-Bridging the
basics of Marozzo's Presas with the sword" is now available.
Dwight C. McLemore has unfortunately had to cancel. However, the "Tomahawk
and Longknife" class will be taught by Steven Huff of the Historical Martial
Study Society. Mr. Huff's bio is now available on the site.

II. The additions to the schedule listed below are all in the Kennedy Room
and included in the basic registration fee.

Two Panel Presentations:
Academic presentations on a range of related topics. See the site for
speakers and titles.
Panel 1. Theoretical Issues
Panel 2. The German Martial Arts Tradition

Three Round Tables:
These are moderated discussion groups made up of teachers attending the
event with an opportunity for Q&A from the audience.
1. "Are There American Martial Arts Separate From European?"
2. "Philosophy in Western Martial Arts"
3. "Cultural Expression in Western Martial Arts - Focusing on Weapons"

Additional lectures:

James Loriega: "Historical Perspectives of the Navaja"
Maestro Ramón Martínez and Alberto Bomprezzi: "La Verdadera Destreza & La
Esgrima Vulgar-Swordsmanship in Spain During the 17th Century"
Dr. Valerie Eads: "Introduction to Historical Research--Methods Used and
Questions Asked by Working Historians"

III. Ground Transportation: We are providing a shuttle bus! The shuttle will
run between the Best Western Hotel and Diana's Castle mornings and evenings.

Regards,
Fawzi
