    PBT or Allstar?

    Hello,
I'm planning to get a new 1600 NW mask soon. I took a look at PBT (aka "Wellenreuther" in Germany) and Allstar. Both are about the same price (~120€ Brutto). What are the pro's and cons of these masks and what would you prefer?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Every time I buy something that isn't Allstar/Uhlmann, it is always found wanting.

Sure, the item may be cheaper. Or maybe, when brand new it'll feel better.

Overall, however, Allstar/Uhlmann is the best quality I've found for durabilty, comfort, and performance. This isn't to say PbT isn't good. It's quality varies a little, but some of their products can be quite good. Although, it's not Allstar/Uhlmann.

pbt is getting pricier by the minute.

I plan on becoming the Uhlmann poster child now that I live here. I have already been to the factory three times!

They are super nice people there. Granted I have spent some good money there, but everytime I go they give me a little something extra. Last time I got a coffee cup which proudly sits on my desk. This company is just all around wonderful. I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the area. Most of them speak some english and Sigrid is fluent so if you don't speak German you are in good shape.

All my business goes directly to them.

Unfortunately I'm nowhere close to Laupheim or Reutlingen. There's a fencing store in Cologne though, I think I'll check that out some time soon.

The store in Cologne is owned by Mrs. Lieffertz and her son. They are very nice and friendly people. I can recommend buying stuff there, they really know what they are talking about and can help you get exactly what you need.
They also sell stuff at the larger tournaments in the Netherlands (for example the FIE A satellite for foil and sabre this weekend in Amsterdam)
With infinite complacency men went to and fro over this globe about their little affairs, serene in their assurance of their empire over matter
