difference is that a lot of people use the "new posts" function to check the board. polls count as "new" if someone's voted on it, not posted in it. so if one person runs through and votes in every poll, a big block of like 30+ threads will show up with nothing new in it.
Hmmm, perhaps a note to Craig to see whether or not this is a fairly easy coding change? Make it so that it only gets flagged as activity if there's a new post, not merely a poll vote?
Always seems weird to log on, see that the most recent post is by me and that the time of the most recent post was an hour before I logged on.... Don't even know the number of times that's made me go "What the?"
-B :)
p.s. Yes, I DO realize that I just opened myself to replies joking about how the above situation would require me to take more than an hour between times checking the fora.
"Oh but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!"
Are you kidding me? This thread is more out of date than...well, I can't think of anything funny to say. But it's pretty out of date.
The original topic was that a bunch of people (mostly me, actually) had made a bunch of polls and the water cooler was completely cluttered with them. This is no longer the case.
it sort of depends if the poll has a point. if its in the fencing discussion is (usually) is but for the most part if it's in the water cooler it isn't. Sorry if I was just pointing out the obvious.
