| What would it mean to you to find ET? This thread is prompted by another one concerning SETI, the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence.
Question: What, if anything, would it mean to you if we found intelligent life Out There?

| It would mean that we're not alone! And we can make friends with them and learn about their culture and languages. OH! And all those annoying people that have preached to me about how God made only us because he only wanted us would realize that they were being selfish.
*cough* and people would stop calling me crazy *cough*

| It sounds fun to me. Especially if they were smarter than us, we could ask them about all sorts of stuff.

| Err, I'd think it was interesting... I just don't think they actually look like those aliens from "Mars Attacks!" or "Alien" or whatever. I don't think anybody's going to be expecting an alien to burst out of somebody's skull anytime soon. |

| I don't know what aliens will look like, but I would love to meet them. When I was five to seven, I'd look out my window each night and make my flashlight turn on and off to make them come and get me. I wanted to be abducted so I could prove to everyone that they are real. Now, either it happened and that's what made me insane, or I'm just really strange. Could be both.

| Is that before or after they enslave us and use us for cattle?
Slargertal: "Dark meat or white meat?
Phenartylcboo: "Hmm, dark."
Slargertal: "You know, Terran tastes like tulephian"
Phenartylcboo: "Yeah, everything tastes like tulephian"
Slargertal: " Ha ha, that's sooooo true!"

| Hmm...new and different species to debate politics and religion with...sounds good to me!
No puns, though, Inq. We don't want them to immediately declare war. |

| I think Our films of Star Wars and Star Trek has led them to believe we are far more advanced then their simple and quite inferior Light speed ships. We have Warp! They have laser Cannons- we have Force fields, proton missiles and death stars. |
