| My club (located in Southern California) buys all its gear from Triplette. And my coach recently bought a weapon from them (electric foil). I bought my mask and my equipment bag from Triplette. No problems on any of these fronts to the best of my knowledge.
I might be more inclined to try Blue Gauntlet or Fencing Post if their catalogs were more descriptive. Blue Gauntlet's in particular was very bare-bones the last time I looked at it. When I have to buy something sight unseen, I want as much information about the product as I can get. Triplette rates pretty high in this area as well (besides having a very funny catalog).

| I can understand that some people have a problem with certain vendors. I have had trouble with some of them as well. However, Triplette is not one of them.
The staff is very courteous and very willing to get things right for you. The quality of the gear seems as durable as anything else. Fit of jackets and the like depend on your own body type as much as the "cut" of the jacket, like any clothes manufacturer.
They fit me quite well.
I have returned items that were not what I wanted and exchanged them for other items. Triplette has always been very easy with that. As for getting the order right, I have not had any problems.
No, wait........I did have ONE problem recently. A group of us ordered+$800 worth of blades, jackets and gear on Monday. It was here by FRIDAY! In Michigan. Shipping was very reasonable. One of the blades was a right hand instead of a left hand. A person in the group kept it and I called Triplette to order another LH weapon. After explaining the mixup, they were more than generous and fair to get a new weapon to me. There is a real effort on the part of the Triplette staff to increase service. I was very impressed.
In conclusion, I think Triplette is a very good company and intend to do business with them in the future. I recommend them.
Best of luck to everyone. Happy fencing! |

| The last thing I ordered from Triplette was the jacket I currently wear. I had it custom tailored by them, to suit my apelike arm length . That was quite a few years ago. ( Since then most of the gear I've bought has been gotten directly from the vendors at big tournaments, so it's not that I am boycotting them or anything. )
Their boxes sometimes behave wonkishly, especially for sabre, but then they fix them free of charge and the same goes for any adjustments needed for changing FIE/USFA standards. Other than that I have never had any complaints about their stuff, either.
And yes, their catalogs are amusing. |

| My club.... My club recently banned triplette because of VERY poor
custom service. We ordered items for our club, with a voucher,
and it took over 6 months to eventually arrive. I suggest you go
with www.physicalchess.com

| Triplette When did you place your order? I heard that they had some problems with the gentleman that was office manager. He is gone and they have someone new running the office. I have talked to them in the last few weeks and they have been great to deal with. |

-FM | Well, three comments. First, Triplette sometimes loses orders. You should always call after a week or so to make sure they got it sent out. They're pretty good at apologizing for screwups. Second, I wouldn't recommend physical chess, as their brand equipment is not good and the stuff they put together is subpar. Third, Triplette had a problem with someone at the office this past week due to health reasons, but if you've ordered recently, they should be getting your stuff out soon. (I got a call from them today about an order that I put in 1.5 weeks ago, and John said he was just finishing up all of the fax orders they received.) That obviously doesn't explain the 6 month delay, which I suspect was them putting the order on a shelf to ask someone about and then forgetting it.

| A few of these posts has mentioned bad wiring on foils from TCA. In my experience, whether ordering from the former Santelli, TCA, BG, PC, & Blade, no one seems to top glue wires well enough where the blade doesn't need repair relatively soon. Has anyone found a supplier that does an exceptional job on blade wires? |

Fecthsport-Lagenkamp.
Although to be fair, I think their weapons come from Allstar/Uhlmann. |

| i've bought a total of at least 8 blades from BG and the only reason i had to rewire any was from dents in the barrel or other tip malfunctions which required a rewire |

| The Fencing Post has never screwed up the wiring on mine or any of the blades anyone I know has ever bought. I buy all electric weapons from them.

| I have never had any trouble with the wiring from The Fencing Post, Fechtsport Langenkamp or Zivkovic Fencing but have had issues with TCA, BG, Physical Chess and Blade that I can recall off the top of my head.

| Neither of the blades i bought from triplette.com seem to have any wiring problems. I've been fencing with them for a week or two and the wires have not popped.

| buy em bare. Nobody will ever do a wire job like you would, so dont expect them to. The only decent wire jobs, in my opinion, are pbt blades.

| Triplette does sometimes lose orders, but it has never been a case for me where they were uncooperatively rude when this was brought to their attention- unlike some other stores. Overall, very good customer interaction, though it must be said that I never buy anything major or in bulk from them.
