May 7 Sports Illustrated highlights a Fencer!

A friend of mine shared his copy of this issue of Sports Illustrated with me. A one page Old Spice Athlete of the Month special advertising feature, highlights Steve Gerberman. I know some of you like to collect articles with fencers, so here's another one to add to your collection.

Good choice for the interview - Steve is a great guy. I was his "drug escort" at JO's last year so I got to spend a couple hours with him. Very nice, humble, a credit to this sport.

On another note, I just saw the American Cancer Society ad in the May 28 issue of Newsweek. It's a veteran named mattie Singleton (anyone know her?). Lefty, dressed in whites above the setting sun at a beach (nice shot), holding what looks like a sabre in a high 5 parry position.

Any exposure is good...unless it's my fencing. Yuk!

Going to your first tournament? Read "Choose yer weapon, Laddie (or: Dude, where's my foil?)"
