| focus factor so i am sitting in front of my blank word processor screen thinking about the english paper that has to get done but i absolutely can not do. so my question is how do you maintain focus when there is fencing.net to poke around on and other interweb fun? does anyone else have this problem with sidetracking as much as i do?

| I do. Basically you just have to commit yourself to your work and then reward yourself afterwards.

| The pixies? Maybe you're problem isn't writer's block. It's just mild pscyzophrenia. (my gosh, did I actually spell that correctly?

| What works for me is turning off the IM and cutting off internet access (unless you need it). Or just take 45 minutes off and have a bath, get dressed for bed, and then settle yourself down again. You know, a lot of ideas were formed in bathtubs!

And the pixies didn't help? Oh dear... a much larger dose should be applied... Step up to Anti-Flag!

| I turn up the music to the max, log off f101, and log off IM. Luckily, I can do most of my schoolwork and chat and crap at the same time.

| I always had to have something else going on. My best work was done burning the midnight oil. If I tried to settle down and focus, I would most likely wake up a few hours later from a refreshing nap
