It just goes to prove what a small world it is - I fenced at the University of Sussex and the Brighton/Hove Fencing Club too! (ages ago, though) Currently I fence for that infamous club "Unattached", though I practice at various places around SoCal. (now if only I could get my med school to sponsor me... )

Now that I have the opportunity to be pedantic, I'm gonna say that the correct use is actually "for whom do you fence?"

Me, too. I often go to competitions without a coach, and I really don't think I'm worse off for it. I know my warmups, I know how to practice, and I know how to handle certain opponents.

Cancelled out by ending with a preposition unnecessarily.

I fence for the one with the highest paycheck. I wish...

I used to fence for my old club (which I still feel a lot of fondness for and loyaty to) however my current club is insisting that I fence for them. They'll subisdise my travelling expenses to some of the bigger opens so it makes sense. The guys at my old club (RCP) know that I still promote them as much as I can.

I fence for ME! Basically 'cause UTAS aint really a club and we dont really have a state association. If you want to nitpick I fence for QLD at state level, and City Fencers at intrastate level...but I dont fence intrastate now due to the fac tI dont live in that state now. <---I know I need more puncuation in that sentence.
Theses are evil....VERY evil, someone rescue me pls!

    I knew it. Every time.

And the worst part is that had I NOT acknowledged the fact that I was going to be corrected, I would not have been corrected.

It's the only club in town that doesn't suck; plus I like my coach. Now if I only had some people to fence against...

I fence for (location - wise) Thames River Fencing Club and for my school, Norwich Free Academy. Philosophically, however, I fence for myself, I enjoy it and, as my friends would tell you, they would never let me quit sense I enjoy it so much.
